What's the opportunity
Reporting to the strategic sourcing manager, you will be responsible for delivering the strategic direction and the commercial management of Brake System commodity.
What you will do:
- Responsible for end-to-end commodity management, from concept, development & sourcing, through to operational supply performance management and runout/exit strategies.
- Developing & executing purchasing strategies on Brake System against business objectives and growth plans.
- Delivering and leading contract management via effective negotiation and supplier performance management.
- Be responsible for commodity level cost ownership, risk management, developing cost opportunities and reporting new risk’s while creating mitigative measure ideas.
- Maintaining supplier relationship management with incumbent supply partners while developing new potential supplier relationships, by influencing stakeholders and supporting escalation to drive optimal resolutions.
Who you are:
- Significant procurement experience in direct procurement in a manufacturing/production-based environment, ideally within automotive or aerospace, but not essential.
- Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of end-to-end supply base management (strategy, sourcing, delivery, cost and management).
- Strong influencing skills with experience of creating and maintaining networks across all levels of the business.
- Understand and analyse key cost drivers in manufacturing and supply chain management, with proven record of optimising costs which deliver value to the business.
- Ability to develop and implement multi-system strategies to optimise cost, rationalise supply base, minimise risk and deliver increased value in technical attributes/performance.
