What's the opportunity
Reporting to the Cost Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the cost engineering strategy to ensure we contribute the success of the business.
What you will do:
• Creating Cost Estimates for Tooling using estimation software and cost models that can be used in supplier negotiations.
• Coordinating cost Engineering activities to develop and validate 2D/3D data which input into cost targets for future production programs.
• Analysing Quotation Analysis Forms supplied from suppliers to critique and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Proving and presenting to key stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost down or to present areas of concern and risk.
• Providing market research into new manufacturing processes or alternative materials that could be used to aid innovation with designs & costs.
• Managing and arranging meetings with all key stakeholders to identify plan of action in support of cost negotiations or working with suppliers on continuous improvements.
• Demonstrating knowledge of component supplier base to suggest design solutions to maintain pro-active liaison between Styling, Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Workshop to ensure effective project communication.
Who you are:
• Experience in change management and being able to provide cost estimate for the change of cost for piece and tooling.
• Experience of ERP and purchasing/sourcing solutions – SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, Coupa
• Experience of working within automotive sector (desirable)
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Analytical and methodical approach and mindset
